A Big Change in Ohio Party Leadership:
The head of the Ohio Democratic Party is gone. The next leader of the State Party will be chosen in early June. No disrespect intended but let’s be honest: State Party what State Party? We haven’t seen any of them since David Pepper came to town years ago. There is talk of what direction the state party will take and if it will be more aggressive or continue to do whatever they are doing down there that doesn’t seem to working very well. Dave Brock, the Chair of the County Party will share his insights on this important matter.
Meet the candidate:
Nicole Sigurdson is an Organizer with SEIU 1199 who is running for State Representative in Ohio House District 19 next year (currently held by Phil Robinson, who is term limited). The district includes Brecksville.
We are looking to see if someone can bring anti SB1 petitions to the meeting. SB 1 is an anti-union bill that eliminates the faculty’s right to bargain important terms and conditions of employment and right to strike. SB 1 bans all efforts to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) which hurts children. More information is here:

We need volunteers: to assist at our Pride festival booth on June 14th. We are looking at 2 hours shift from11:00 am until 7:00. Also we will need folks to cover afternoon and evenings shifts for Broadview Heights Home Days July 10th to the 13th. We will have signup sheets at the meeting.
Members in good standing will also be voting on whether to cancel the June and July meetings because we are doing the Pride Festival in June and Home Days in July.
We congratulate the Cuyahoga County Democratic candidates who won Contested Races and the judicial candidates and others who won their seats but are not listed.
